Job Description
Our client, an international construction organisation who specialise in key building projects all around Ireland, the UK and Europe, requires a M&E Commissioning Manager in Killarney, County Kerry, Ireland.
Position Overview:
The M&E Commissioning Manager will be responsible for overseeing the commissioning process of mechanical and electrical systems within the construction project. This role involves coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure that M&E systems are installed, tested, and commissioned according to project specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Comprehensive Oversight: Review technical content, ensuring contract compliance. Produce detailed commissioning plans, programs, and test trackers. Review and approve subcontractors’ commissioning RAMS.
- Effective Communication: Facilitate communication between stakeholders. Manage daily commissioning meetings. Proactively resolve commissioning issues. Ensure timely closure of issues with agreed deadlines.
- Detailed Reporting and Documentation: Generate weekly progress reports and dashboards. Monitor equipment tagging processes. Collate and manage test documentation for FAT. Produce schedules of key issues and observations.
- Team Management and Technical Expertise: Lead and manage commissioning teams. Review design drawings and technical submittals. Manage labour during testing and commissioning activities.
- Holistic System Integration Focus: Collaborate on BMS and FA interfaces testing. Assist in preparing commissioning documents (L1-L4). Support O&M Manuals for commissioning testing. Ensure system integration readiness for testing at different levels.
- Strategic Support: Aid in executing Building Services Strategy Plan and objectives, ensuring alignment with pre-construction strategies.
- MEP Package Management: Support tender and award of MEP packages, taking responsibility for integration within the project team.
- Testing and Commissioning Oversight: Coordinate activities, ensure compliance with site requirements, and align Building Services programs with the Construction Programme.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering) provides a strong foundation for understanding technical aspects of construction and commissioning.
- 6 years’ experience managing large and complex MEP projects, from estimation to handover.
- Demonstrates technical proficiency, effective interpersonal and commercial skills, and commitment to safety, health, and quality management systems.
- Understanding of the MEP supply chain market and operational dynamics.
- Knowledge of ASHRAE testing levels 1-5, expertise in BSRIA and CIBSE guidelines.
- Possession of a project management certification (e.g., PMP or PRINCE2)advantageous.
