Job Description

Our client is a Tier 1 Building Civil & Mining Contractor in Australia

They are currently looking to hire experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanics to be based in Western Australia.

The positions are on Fly-in Fly-out basis (FIFO) 14/7 rota – this may vary between sites.

These positions are available on single and/or married status.

Shortest working visa available is for 6 months or standard working visa from 2 years to permanent residency.

 

Reporting to the Service Supervisor you will diagnose, service and repair a wide range of equipment.  You will complete planned and unplanned maintenance of equipment as directed by the Leading Hand / Supervisor to the required standards.

You will comply with all site and statutory OH&S regulations and maintain a strong focus on safety for yourself and others including the use of site safety systems.

 

Responsibilities:

Inspecting trucks, cranes, bulldozers, and other heavy equipment for proper performance.

Diagnosing faults using computerized testing equipment.

Adjusting equipment and replacing faulty parts.

Repairing damaged equipment parts.

Cleaning, lubricating, and conducting routine services on heavy-duty vehicles.

Cleaning and servicing of machine attachments like winches, blades, and side booms.

Performing major repair work when necessary.

Consulting with other mechanics on smaller jobs.

Reporting damaged or faulty equipment to management.

Troubleshoot issues on the job site.

Repair and service even the biggest machinery with expert care.

 

Requirements:

Certification as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic.

Proven work experience as a Diesel or Heavy Equipment Mechanic.

Experience with machinery such as Excavators, Dozers, Graders, Front End Loaders, Dump Trucks and comparable engines and heavy mobile plant equipment.

Forklift and dogging license with necessary experience is advantageous.

Understanding of computer testing technologies.

Ability to lift heavy machinery.

Extensive knowledge of diesel engines and construction equipment.

Good communication skills.

Be physically fit.
