Alpine Recruitment is seeking a Site Safety Officer for an established T1 Contractor in Dublin, Ireland. Job Description:
Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, conduct risk assessments, and implement safety plans specific to hi-tech construction projects. Lead incident investigations, provide specialised training, and maintain accurate safety records.
Responsibilities:
- Risk Assessment, Mitigation and Regulatory Compliance: Conduct risk assessments and formulate mitigation strategies tailored to datacenter and hi-tech construction projects. Enforce adherence to health and safety regulations, codes of practice, and industry standards.
- Safety Planning and Site Inspections: Develop and maintain project-specific health and safety plans customised for datacenter and hi-tech installations. Ensure safety compliance through regular site inspections and promptly address any instances of non-compliance.
- Incident Investigation and Documentation: Take charge of investigations, analyse incidents, and provide recommendations for preventive measures. Document and maintain precise safety records, including inspection reports, incident documentation, and training records.
- Safety Training and Emergency Response: Deliver specialised training addressing datacenter and hi-tech hazards and safe working practices. Formulate comprehensive emergency response plans, coordinate responses, and ensure swift reactions during critical situations.
- Equipment Safety: Supervise equipment safety, ensuring strict adherence to lifting operation standards as per BS 7121/IS361.
- Collaboration & Communication: Cultivate a safety-focused culture, facilitate transparent communication, and seamlessly integrate safety protocols into project schedules and budgets.
Requirements:
- BA degree in Health & Safety, Construction Management, or equivalent (e.g., NVQ Level 4)
- IOSH/NEBOSH or equivalent health & safety certification.
- Proficiency in lifting operations (BS 7121/IS361) and Temp Works Awareness, incl. TWC role.
- Completion of relevant training (Local PD, CDM, PSDP, PSCS).
- Strong written/verbal skills, IT proficiency.
- Familiarity with Irish health & safety regulations.
- Datacentre experience preferred but in not a prerequisite
