Our client, an established contractor with offices in Ireland, the UK, and Europe who operates across diverse sectors seeks a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a project in Killaloe, Co Clare.
 Responsibilities:

  • Customer and Project Management: Liaise with customers and project managers to ensure clear communication and understanding.
  • Commercial and Contractual Management: Manage the commercial and contractual aspects of relationships with customers, consultants, and subcontractors.
  • Budgeting and Cost Management: Measure, price, negotiate, and agree on budgets and costs for variations to project scope.
  • Pre-contract Meetings and Coordination: Attend pre-contract meetings, collaborate with construction professionals, and ensure timely completion of agreed actions.
  • Procurement and Tendering: Produce and maintain up-to-date procurement schedules. Compile and issue invitations to tender, analyse subcontractor quotations, and provide recommendations for order placements.
  • Subcontractor Management: Compile subcontract orders for approval. Visit the site to measure and value completed works. Assess subcontractor payment entitlements and process payments.
  • Project Performance Reporting: Reconcile cost and value to date/forecast to inform the management team of project performance.
  • Collaboration and Support: Work closely with contract and site management staff to ensure the smooth running of the office and site. Assist in guiding and developing junior surveyors.
  • Ad Hoc Commercial Duties: Undertake other commercial matters as required.

Qualifications:

  •   Bachelor’s degree in construction economics, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
  •   5 years of Quantity Surveying experience, demonstrating successful project oversight.
  •   Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make informed decisions.
  •   Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  •   Experience in overseeing the financial and contractual aspects of construction projects.
  •   Proficiency in cost estimation, contract management, and excellent communication abilities.
  •   Chartered status (highly desired)
