Senior Civil Health & Safety Manager 

Job Description

Our client is an established international construction company
They are looking to appoint a Lead Health & Safety Manager to oversee Infrastructure Civil division in Ireland
Reporting to Group HSEQ Director work closely with division’s COO & Senior Management team
Operate effectively within both a divisional senior management team and a wider business functional team proactively contribute to company-wide programmes and initiatives
Confident interacting with a broad range of internal and stakeholders and representing the business in the industry
Develop and implement strategy while also providing direct support and leadership in the operational delivery environment

Responsibilities to include:

Develop appropriate business unit strategies aligned with company-wide whilst ensuring they are appropriate to the specific opportunities and risks facing the division
Drive the identification and implementation of innovation and technology
Proactively represent the division in appropriate industry forums and working groups and with clients as and when required
Support the implementation and continuous development of the HSEQ Management Systems
Report on HSEQ performance at divisional board level monthly
Actively support work winning and preconstruction efforts and activity
Provide line management support and leadership to the existing team of professionals, building and developing this team as the division develops

Relevant Health Safety and professional qualifications
Managed at senior level preferably civils/heavy civils although building candidates may also be considered (Ireland / UK / Middle East / Canada)
Working knowledge of ISO Management System Standards
Working knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation appropriate to the geography of the role and the construction industry and related sectors
Demonstrable experience of developing and delivering annual strategies to budget
Experience of building, managing and developing a high performing team
Experience working with pre-construction teams identifying and eliminating risks at the earliest stage in a project life cycle and in supporting the production of technical submissions in the work winning process

This position does not necessarily have to be Dublin based flexible working options available
