MEP Commissioning Engineer Galway

Job Description

Our client, a Tier 1 international contractor with offices in Ireland, Europe and the UK is looking to hire an MEP Commissioning Engineer for Galway, Ireland.

The MEP Commissioning Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and executing key tasks related to the testing and commissioning of (MEP) systems across construction projects ensuring the seamless functionality and optimal performance of building systems.

 

Responsibilities:

Coordination of Testing and Commissioning Activities: Collaborate closely with project stakeholders to coordinate testing and commissioning activities. Provide valuable insights and advice on testing and commissioning procedures to enhance project efficiency. Ensure strict adherence to specified site requirements and industry standards during all testing phases.

Documentation Production: Take a lead role in producing, reviewing, and organising all test and commissioning documentation. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant information and contribute to the creation of comprehensive documentation. Maintain a keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy and completeness of all documentation.

Testing and Commissioning Execution: Undertake hands-on testing and commissioning activities, utilising technical expertise to address challenges and ensure successful outcomes. Implement industry best practices and standards to guarantee the reliability and efficiency of MEP systems. Troubleshoot and resolve issues that may arise during testing, ensuring timely and effective solutions.

Progress Monitoring and Record-Keeping: Monitor project progress, providing regular updates to project managers and stakeholders. Record and document all test results accurately, maintaining a detailed log of activities. Oversee the final testing phase and equipment acceptance, ensuring compliance with project specifications.

Documentation Compilation for Site Test Dossier: Compile and organise all relevant documentation for inclusion in the site test dossier. Create a comprehensive record of project activities, ensuring easy access to critical information for future reference. Collaborate with quality assurance teams to verify the completeness and accuracy of the site test dossier.

 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Hold a relevant third-level qualification, with a key focus in MEP systems.
  • 3 years of hands-on experience as a Commissioning Engineer within the building sector.
  • Systematic approach, with the ability to design, plan, and manage projects efficiently.
  • Detail oriented, maintaining a balance between project overview and technical intricacies.
